Banking

All troop funds must flow through a Wells Fargo troop bank account. When your troop is ready to set up a bank account, the first step is to fill out the Bank Account Request Form. Once your form has been submitted and processed, San Diego Girl Scouts will contact you with the next steps. Remember, to be eligible for a troop bank account, your troop must have a troop treasurer, and two signers who are unrelated, registered Girl Scout members, who have a clear background check.

Treasurer Training

Prospective troop treasurers must complete online training. The first step is to complete the Training Self-Sign Up Form, using the code “banking2”. Then check your email for a link to log into the Troop Treasurer Learning Path, and complete the training. Troop Treasurers must also fill out a Troop Treasurer Position Description and return the form to their Troop Leader.

Starting your troop finances off on the right foot is really important and will save you a lot of hassle at the end of the year when you have to turn in your financial reports. To get a comprehensive look at your troops responsibilities, check out Volunteer Essentials: Troop Finances
